Today is the BIG day...

It is weird that I have butterflies even now...writing this post. Today was the BIG day...I went to Provo to VIP Media to have the Cricut Video and Photo Shoot. When I got there, Lisa the Makeup Artist came out to greet me. She took me in to touch up my makeup and spray down any "fly aways". It might sound silly but I felt kind of like a movie star...LOL! I feel like such a dork for even telling you that! :)

Anyways, after that, we went in to a big studio. There was where we would be doing the interview. I meet Liz, who was to do the actually interview questions. There was Jed and Mark, whom I had already meet from the "in-home" shoot. I also meet Gerald, the other cameraman and Gerald (different pronunciation) the sound guy who put my microphone on. We sat down and Liz asked me all different kinds of questions like... "How does the Cricut help you to be your creative best?"; "How do people respond when you show them something you've made with the Cricut and what kinds of things do they say?"; and "How has the Cricut improved your quality of like?". It was hard to answer some of the questions because I didn't want to come across as cocky or prideful but they helped me feel comfortable about it. :) They actually made me feel really comfortable about the whole thing. No pressure! But I also think it was easier because I was talking about MY passion... nothing like giving a book report in school or saying the prayer in church...LOL!! :)

After the interview, I got a few snapshots of everyone because you can't go through an experience like this and not record the event...that is what scrapbookers just DO... LOL!

Jed then took me into another studio where Russ was there to take still pictures of me and the projects that I had brought. He took some fun pictures of me and my "Kateism's". I was supposed to pose like "Ya...I made that...what do you think about that?!", with a little attitude and fun! It WAS fun and both Jed and Russ thought they got some great pictures! Then Russ took my projects and photographed them. It was really cool to watch someone professional taking pictures of projects that I made and that came from my heart! What an AWESOME feeling!

Then it was time to go, right after I signed a paper giving my permission to use my image of course!! LOL! I bounced outside to my husband, Julio, who was waiting in the car and told him all about it!

How surreal the whole experience was being in there talking about my passion for scrapbooking and the Cricut. It was a very NEAT feeling...having all that excitement and attention...Silly, I know!! But all in all, it was an experience that I will never forget and hope that someday I can do it again!

Here are a few of the snapshots that I got of the day...

This is Lisa the Makeup Artist...
Liz is the one who did the interview...

Russ is the one who did the Still Photography.
Here he is taking a picture of my shadow box...
He was sure a nice guy...they ALL were really NICE!!
Here Russ is taking a picture of Kaydence's Baby Calendar.
It was funny because
this is the same way I take my pictures of my projects...LOL!

The "in-home" video shoot...

Okay...I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! It has been a mad house today! So much excitement for such a short period of time! LOL :) The came and went in a short 15 minutes or so.

So two guys came, normally pretty scary right, but they couldn't have been nicer and sweeter! Jed and Marc I believe. Marc was the camera man. Jed works for Provo Craft. They came in and said to act as natural as possible in my scrapbook room using my Cricut. So I went to work, but my 3 year old DD would not budge from my side...she was too scared to go out but also curious to show off to the guys!! LOL :) Anyways, I apologized that she would leave me alone and was getting ready to go put her in her room to play when Jed told me she was fine if that is what we normally would be doing. I thought...of course she is by my side, she won't leave me alone for 2 minutes!! So she sat done a bit and played with her Cuttlebug and also helped me put the buttons on my Expression. I thought she was SOooo cute, but I was also nervous that it wouldn't be the kind of footage that they wanted but they said it looked great! Marc said she was a great little actress! She thought that was funny and said "ya".

They took lots of pictures of my (finally clean) scrap'n space and all my little projects on the walls. And then they were on their way. Very pleasant experience so far but not too eventful. Monday should be more fun and more exciting or at least I hope so!

Cricut Contest Survey...BIG NEWS!

Long story but well worth it!! (Or at least I think so...LOL)

So a couple weeks ago or so, I filled out a Cricut Contest Survey to see if I could win a new Cricut cartridge. The questions asked were stuff like "What kinds of creative projects have you made with your Cricut?", "How has the Cricut helped you be your creative best?", and "How has the Cricut improved your life?"... etc.

Yesterday I got an email from " Jed over at Sprout Marketing in Salt Lake City which was hired by Provo Craft to help them create a new marketing campaign, featuring people who've used the Cricut to create a variety of projects and who feel like the Cricut helps them be their creative best."

They said that they are in the process of selecting Cricut customers who live along the Wasatch Front to help them kick off this campaign. And based on MY "enthusiastic" answers from the survey, they were wondering if I might be interested in helping them out with their project!!!

I thought ... WOW that sounds like fun!! So today I sent them a picture of myself and my favorite Cricut project that they requested for "consideration".

"Those selected will be invited to take part in a video and photo shoot at a photo studio in Provo. The footage and photographs from this shoot will be used in a variety of ways, including video testimonials at trade shows and online, along with print advertisements potentially. The purpose of these materials is to inspire people from across the country to use the Cricut to achieve their personal creative best and then to share their creative best stories with Provo Craft." They are also going to be having a few others do an "in-home" video session too for some background video footage for transitions between studio shots (no talking).

So then later today I got a phone call from Jed over at the marketing agency saying that my submission was accepted and they would "love" to have me participate with them in the project!! I about died and went to heaven right then!! WOW, what a cool feeling! After the call, all reality kicked in and I got nervous!

Now I'm cleaning my house like a crazy woman to get ready for the "in-home" shoot because it is this Thursday! Luckily they said they will only be here for 10 to 20 minutes tops. So I have one day to get ready plus they want me to do my "favorite" project that I emailed them earlier. Here is a picture of it, but I'm doing one that is a little bit different because I will be making it for me to keep and the pictures will be different ones now that Kaydence is here! By the way, it is a shadow box...

So please wish me luck and I will keep you all posted on how everything goes.

Ice Cream Sundae...

I just got my new Zutter Bind It All
over at
and had to make something so I could use it!

So I decided to create this Ice Cream Cone mini album with my Pazzles Machine. I just went into the Pazzles software and create different size circles and ovals and then welded them all together to create the whole thing. I was pretty impressed that I made it all by myself...I've never done something like this before. The whole thing is about 11.5 x 5.5. It was so fun to make. Too bad I'm not keeping is going up on eBay next week!

There is tags tucked behind a few photo mats for journaling...
