I thought it would be fun to make an advent calendar for Halloween for my two young kids. This is how I made it...
So I started off with a 9x13 cookie sheet from the $1 store. The metal is pretty light, so my hubby made too holes with a large nail and a hammer on the sides of the pan for the ribbon to attach to. Then I did some simple, light scrapbooking on the inside of the pan so it wouldn't be too thick with paper so the magnets would hold to the metal nicely. The paper line I used is BoBunny. You can find this Curly Tree pattern for FREEHEREat The Paper Piecing Beehive where I sell paper piecing cut files. Then I went and got the BoBunny "Whoo-ligans" chipboard set to make some of the days. I stamped days on 14 of the chipboard pieces and then for the rest of the days I used Diamond Glaze to put numbers on the bottoms of smooth flat marbles. Then I put magnets on the bottom all 31 pieces. I also put a little Stickles glitter on some of the chipboard pieces.
I’ve been scrapbooking since I was 13 and crafting for as long as I can remember. My mom bought me my first scrapbook kit. It came with 40 pages with instructions on how to put them together. It didn’t take me long before I needed more. I was addicted from that point on. At the moment I'm a stay at home mom of my daughter, Shay who is 5 and my son Kaydence that is 2 . I've been married to a very artistic and talented man, Julio, for almost 8 years. He enjoys helping me with designing some of the creatures and other fun paper piecings on my layouts. I've been scrapbooking and crafting for over 10 years but the most is the past 5 years. I love making layouts along with altering anything and everything. I hope you enjoy the creations I make and that they encourage your creativity!
